ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Additional details were released today in the discovery of human remains found in rural Ross County.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office with detectives responded to the property belonging to a retired Chillicothe police officer along the 1200 block of Chester Hill Road after hunters discovered an abandoned campsite. The campsite, officials said, seemed suspicious.
Deputies along with search and rescue personnel scoured the surrounding area. That is when, reports say, that human remains were discovered in the area.
The remains, authorities said, were transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for identification.
The case remains under investigation and no further details were released by the Sheriff’s Office.
