CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A joint-law enforcement investigation was underway Tuesday night in Chillicothe after a person was found dead.
It was happening in the area of Clay Street at around 7:45 p.m. when officers were called for a person who had been shot. When they arrived, they found a body and an SUV with shattered back glass.
Chillicothe Police called the Ross County Coroner, who took the body for an autopsy. Meanwhile, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting in the investigation. The Guardian has learned that the shooting allegedly occurred outside of the city limits, and the victim ended up at a house on Clay Street where they died.
The details leading up to the reported shooting were not immediately released. The names of those involved were not released.
