CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that left the city’s law director injured.
According to the report obtained by the Guardian, city Law Director Anna Villarreal was attempting to cross Main Street near downtown when a vehicle struck her. It was not known immediately by police if the driver targeted the law director intentionally or if it was an “accident.”
Following the incident, the driver told Villarreal she was sorry and continued on, leaving the scene, witness statements read. Reports say the vehicle involved was a red-colored sedan. The driver was described as a middle-aged or older white female with white hair.
The law director suffered an ankle injury as a result of the accident, according to the police report. A message was left with her office on Tuesday inquiring about her current health status. A receptionist took a message and said she would pass the note along to the law director.
