CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating a weekend stabbing that left one person in serious condition.
The incident happened during the early morning hours on Sunday.
According to the report provided to the Guardian, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue after a 911 caller said someone had been attacked with a knife.
Medics with the Chillicothe Fire Department and officers from the police department arrived on the scene and found the victim bleeding from a wound on the middle left side of their back.
Witnesses told police that the victim had walked outside to take out the trash when an unknown subject came from the nearby alley and attacked him.
The victim was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
No suspects have been named in the case, and the stabbing, detectives said, remains under investigation.
