CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A popular food chain has said that a police investigation has uncovered an untruth about their burger joint.
On Monday, the Guardian reported that police were dispatched to White Castle in Chillicothe after a customer reported finding a hypodermic needle in her food bag. Police immediately launched an investigation and started watching security videos from inside the restaurant.
“Customer health and safety are of the utmost importance at White Castle. We have been working closely with local police regarding this incident and welcomed them to the restaurant for further investigation,” White Castle released in a statement. “The police also reviewed all surveillance footage of food prep and packaging including the order in question. At this time, there is no evidence that anything out of the ordinary took place during the food preparation process or with the packaging for carry-out prior to leaving the restaurant. We will continue to cooperate with local authorities and support their efforts in every way we can.“
White Castle, which has a location along Bridge Street in Chillicothe, is headquartered in Columbus and privately owned by the Ingram family of central Ohio.
