CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — New details have been released by the Chillicothe Police Department regarding a story the Guardian reported yesterday.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a B.O.L.O. (be-on-the-lookout) was issued for a gold-colored Cadillac. A man at the local Bridge Street Marathon gas station said two individuals pulled a gun on him and threatened to shoot him.
Investigators spoke with the man who told police that his ex-girlfriend called the two men to come to threaten him. Police then spoke with the woman, who was also an employee of the filling station, who pulled up a video showing the vehicle and two men exiting. No other camera angles, the police say, were available. According to reports, the woman denied knowing the two men but did say one worked at a nearby car dealership.
Police then located the two suspected individuals. They told officers that the gas station employee said her ex-boyfriend (the original 9-1-1 caller) would not leave the gas station. The men went on to say that the woman then asked them to make the man leave the premises.
In a statement to police, the men said the ex-boyfriend then pulled a wrench from his vehicle and threatened them. Both men denied any guns being involved.
Officer Shipley in his report said he “believes the caller lied about the gun situation,” and no charges would be filed. The 9-1-1 caller was subsequently barred from the gas station’s property.
