ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County man was indicted last week, charged in the death of 27-year-old Cody Jordan.
It happened over the summer in the 15000 block of Pleasant Valley Road in French Town just outside of Chillicothe.
Troopers said a 2005 Cadillac CTS, driven by Jesse Garcilaso, 35, Chillicothe, was traveling on Pleasant Valley Road when he traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck two parked cars, struck a porch of a house, and then struck a fence.
Garcilaso appeared to be drunk according to law enforcement and failed a field sobriety test. He was initially placed under arrest but was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Jordan, reports say, had just placed his children into a nearby car when the crash occurred. The porch collapsed upon impact with the vehicle. Jordan was unresponsive when medics arrived and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Garcilaso has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.
