CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police are investigating a shooting at a local park in Chillicothe.
According to reports, officers were dispatched to the area of Poland Park and South Hickory Street Sunday evening shortly after 6 p.m. on reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who stated that a dark-colored, “possibly Hyundai Elantra” was stopped near the entrance to the park. The man then told police that he saw two male occupants inside of the vehicle.
A short time later, police say, one person inside the vehicle began shooting at an unidentified man walking down the street. The vehicle then fled the scene following the attack.
Police canvassed the area and noted that a house on the 100 block of South Hickory Street was struck multiple times by stray bullets, and at least one vehicle, parked along the street, was also struck.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
No further details were provided by police and no suspects have been identified at this time.
