WILMINGTON, Ohio — A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Fayette County in our region, as well as a wind chill watch for the entire Scioto Valley. The National Weather Service has warned that a combination of snow, blowing snow, and the wind is expected to hit the area later Thursday night through Friday night. It is possible that the region could see total snow accumulations of between 1 and 3 inches. The winds are expected to gust as high as 45 mph, which could create dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 degrees below zero.

Those who must travel during the storm are advised to do so with caution, as road conditions are likely to be hazardous. It is also important to dress in layers and cover exposed skin to protect against extreme cold.

The National Weather Service says they will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as needed.

Stay tuned for further information on the developing weather situation in our region.
