CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A man in Chillicothe, Ohio, has reported that he was assaulted and robbed in the early hours of the morning. According to the Chillicothe Police Department, the victim was treated at Adena Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained during the incident that happened in the 300 block of East Fifth Street.
The victim, reports said, told police that he had invited two men, one of whom he knew, into his apartment at around 2 a.m. When one of the men asked to borrow $200, the victim offered them a drink. However, while in the kitchen, the victim saw one of the men take cash from his bedside table.
When the victim allegedly confronted the man, an altercation ensued.
The victim, the police report read, stated that he pushed one of the suspects to the floor, but the other man came up from behind and began strangling him. The victim, in the report, said he fought back, but was hit several times in the face. The other man was reportedly carrying a handgun.
The suspects then stole a PS5 and threatened to cut the victim’s throat with a knife before allegedly going through the apartment to find more items to steal. The victim, police said, was able to send a message to a neighbor to call 9-1-1, and the case is now under investigation.
