CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police in Chillicothe have released new details in the shooting that sent a local teen to the hospital.
It happened around midnight in the 100 block of North High Street.
The victim, who has been identified as a 15-year-old male, was found suffering from two gunshot wounds by patrol officers who responded to the incident. He was transported to ARMC and later transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
Eyewitnesses reported to the Guardian that they saw a dark colored SUV pull up in front of a brick house and open fire, hitting one person. The vehicle sped away at a high-rate of speed but another car in the area who saw the shooting followed at a distance and called 9-1-1.
The shooter was stopped in a felony traffic stop with guns drawn by officers on Western Avenue in front of the Central Center Shopping Center.
Following the shooting and the arrest of the suspect, the Chillicothe Special Response Team served a search warrant in the 500 block area of Mill Street. During the search, officers seized the suspected firearm used in the shooting, as well as a stolen firearm and several other firearms in possession of a person who is prohibited from possessing weapons due to a disability.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male juvenile has been arrested and charged with felonious assault, while a 19-year-old male, Robert Bullard, has been arrested and charged with complicity to felonious assault. It has been announced that additional charges of weapons under disability will be presented to the grand jury.
