ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — What began as a call regarding a man threatening his brother with an AR-15-style rifle ended in a drug bust.
It happened yesterday afternoon in the 5000 block of Denver Road in Ross County.
According to the 9-1-1 caller, his fiancé was allegedly assaulted by his brother, who then, the caller said, pulled an AR-15 style rifle and threatened them.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office responded to the residence. During the investigation, officials said a drug trafficking operation was uncovered.
Investigators and agents with the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force, executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home.
Over 5 pounds of Marijuana and T.H.C. extracts were seized, as well as $8000 in cash, and two firearms.
Robert Petty, 36, of Cincinnati, was arrested and charged with assault, abduction, and having weapons under disability.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office says the case is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending laboratory test results.
