CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A second doctor has been accused of creating a sexually harassing workplace inside the local hospital.
On Wednesday, the Guardian reported that a nurse filed a police report against an orthopedic doctor claiming she was sexually harassed; and that the doctor only received a one-week suspension when she complained to management. Now, another hospital employee has come forward alleging that she, too was sexually assaulted by a different doctor in southern Ohio’s largest medical group.
The Guardian obtained a police report on Thursday that details allegations against Dr. Robert Gunderson.
“… while on shift she was “sexually assaulted” by a doctor at [Adena Medical Center]. [She] advised she was leaning over the nurse’s station and [Dr. Gunderson] ‘brushed his hand on [her] butt’ …. [she] advised later in the doctor cupped her breast. [The nurse] advised she later went to the administration and filed a complaint however nothing was done.
When asked by the deputy as to why she did not come forward when it occurred more than a year ago, the police report reads that the woman “advised it was because she did not want it to happen to anyone else.”
Representatives for Adena’s communications department said on Thursday that they do not comment on employee personnel matters, but said on Wednesday that they cooperate with law enforcement in any criminal investigations.
Online records show Gunderson left Adena last year.
