ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Chillicothe Kiwanis Club and Ross County Ministerial Association are gearing up to host their annual Ohio Statehood Day Prayer Celebration, which is set to take place on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 8:30 a.m.
The celebration will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Chillicothe, located at 13 Mead Drive, and will mark Ohio’s 220th anniversary. This year’s event will be the 57th edition of the celebration, which has been jointly organized by the two associations since 1967 to commemorate the founding and establishment of the State of Ohio.
Tickets for the Ohio Statehood Day Prayer Celebration are available for purchase at the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau, located at 230 N. Plaza Blvd, during office hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m for lunch). Each ticket costs $12.00, and attendance is limited to 100 guests. Interested individuals are encouraged to obtain their tickets soon, as this event usually sells out quickly.
The celebration will include a continental breakfast, which will be prepared by the Huntington School Culinary Fundamentals Class, and is included in the ticket cost. There will be several presenters and speakers at the event, including Ohio Representative Mark Johnson, who will deliver the Statehood Day Address. In addition, the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club will present the Statehood Day Achievement Award to a deserving community member.
