VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — Vinton County drivers should be aware of upcoming highway projects that may impact their travel. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has released information regarding several projects, weather permitting.
A tree trimming project is currently underway on SR 278, between SR 56 and U.S. 50. The road will be closed where work is taking place, as this is a moving operation. Those who are seeking updated information can contact the Vinton County ODOT Garage at (740) 568-4410. The project is expected to be completed by March 31.
Another tree trimming project is also taking place on SR 56, between SR 93 and the Hocking County Line. This is also a moving operation and the road will be closed where work is taking place. The project is estimated to be completed by March 17.
A culvert repair project is scheduled to begin on March 20 on U.S. 50, between Circle Drive and Bolar Road, approximately 1.9 miles west of McArthur. One lane will be closed, and temporary traffic signals will be used to maintain traffic flow. The estimated completion date for the project is March 30.
Drivers in Vinton County are encouraged to exercise caution and follow all traffic signs and signals when traveling near any of these project sites.
