GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio — On Wednesday evening, March 1, 2023, a search warrant was executed by the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office at a residence in the 3000 block of Neighborhood Road after an investigation conducted earlier in the day provided information pertaining to drug trafficking occurring at the residence.
According to Sheriff Matt Champlin, “As a result of the search, narcotics were located along with money believed to be profits of the criminal activity. Two individuals were taken into custody at the scene. Dylan Birtcher, age 28, of Gallipolis, and Elizabeth A. Rayburn, age 24, of Gallipolis. Ms. Rayburn was arrested for an outstanding warrant for non-support of dependents from the Gallia County Juvenile Court. Mr. Birtcher was taken into custody at the scene, and charges are forthcoming on him regarding the possession and sale of narcotics.”
Sheriff Champlin went on to say, “To those of you who continue to victimize our community by peddling poison and preying on our community, we’re coming for you. The proactive group of law enforcement professionals within our law enforcement community is focused on and prioritizing eliminating your criminal behaviors to ensure a quality of life where we live. Look over your shoulder, we are coming!”
