ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Ross County Sheriff George Lavender has announced that the Ross County Sheriff’s Office patrol operations will be moving to a new location on the north side of Adena Regional Medical Center. Beginning March 8, 2023, patrol operations will be headquartered at 4447 SR 159, a stand-alone building, the sheriff said, that will provide ample space for the patrol deputies, sergeants, lieutenant, and captains to all work together under one roof.
According to Sheriff Lavender, the previous substations that the patrol deputies were using had space limitations, including the limited ability of the patrol supervisors to work closely with the deputies. By placing all of the patrol staff together, the new location is expected to increase efficiencies within the patrol division.
County officials said over 40% of the calls for service come from the area immediately around the city limits of Chillicothe, and this new location provides quick access to SR-159, US-23, and SR-207, which will allow the deputies to respond to calls for service and patrols more efficiently without sitting in traffic congestion trying to leave the city, the Sheriff said.
Deputies will still be out patrolling Ross County, and the substations in Richmondale, Frankfort, and Bainbridge will continue to be maintained, he said.
To reach the Sheriff’s Office, community members can still call the same Sheriff’s Office phone numbers, 740-773-1185 for dispatch and 740-773-1186 for the administration line. The Law Enforcement Complex will continue to be staffed with dispatch, civil, and corrections staff.
