COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Insurance’s Ohio Mental Health Insurance Assistance Office will be conducting free webinars to educate consumers and healthcare professionals about mental health and substance use disorder benefits in health insurance plans for treatment access.
Ohio Department of Insurance director Judith L. French has announced that the Ohio Mental Health Insurance Assistance Office (MHIA) will be conducting the webinars on March 21st and 23rd.
The first webinar, “Consumer Tips for Understanding Mental Health Insurance Benefits,” will be held on March 21st at noon. The second, “Understanding Mental Health Insurance Benefits for Healthcare Professionals,” will be held on March 23rd at noon, specifically for behavioral health providers, billing staff, and other administrative professionals.
MHIA office staff will be available to answer questions about the webinars and mental health and substance use disorder insurance benefits via email at [email protected] or a toll-free number at 855-438-6442 (855-GET-MHIA).
The initiative is aimed at providing much-needed assistance and education to those seeking treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
