ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A elementary school student is in hot water after law enforcement officials say he made serious threats against fellow classmates.
According to reports, on March 20, a 10-year-old male student at Huntington Elementary School, who recently transferred from a school district in West Virginia, made threats to get a gun and kill himself at the school. The student also threatened to buy bombs and place them in the toilets to flush them and blow up the pipes in the school, said deputies.
The student was reportedly being bullied, and faculty members discovered this while speaking with him. The school contacted the student’s guardian, who retrieved him from school. Officials say the student has been suspended, and the district, per policy, has recommended his expulsion.
Ross County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the incident and spoke with the student and his guardian. The guardian stated that the student has anger issues and has a hard time controlling his emotions.
The student admitted to making the statements “to scare the kids” who were picking on him. The deputies advised the student that he needed to speak with his teachers if he was being bullied and allow them to help him.
The case has been referred to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
