PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — Former executive director of the Pike County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Sharon Manson, has been convicted for the theft, according to a special audit released on Thursday. The announcement was made by the Auditor of State Keith Faber.
Manson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of attempted theft in office and soliciting or accepting improper compensation in May 2022 in Pike County Common Pleas Court. She has been ordered to pay a fine of $250, make restitution of $6,805.54, and serve 30 hours of community service.
The Auditor of State’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) conducted an investigation and determined that Manson had improperly issued payroll checks to herself and paid off a short-term loan using the Pike County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s account.
Manson has already paid the full restitution amount, which was received in May 2022.
