WAVERLY, Ohio — Two people were arrested after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash on Thursday, June 1.
According to Waverly Police, Sergeant Taylor was on patrol when he saw a vehicle weaving in and out of its lane of traffic on North Street. Taylor activated his emergency lights and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop.
The driver, Samantha Entler, led Taylor on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of over 70 mph. Entler ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of State Route 124 and Leeth Creek Road.
Entler and her passenger Donald Entler, were both taken into custody. Samantha was charged with failure to comply with a lawful order or signal, and Donald was charged with a protection order violation.
Donald also had a felony warrant through the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
Both were transported to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office to await housing. Further charges are pending drug results from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
