JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — A crash over the weekend left one person in serious condition and another behind bars.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, on Saturday, around 4:30 p.m., a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, ridden by 53-year-old Dewey McDaniels, was traveling westbound along Route 124 in Jackson County. A 2008 Ford F-150, driven by 25-year-old Blake Royster crossed the center line striking McDaniels.
Mr. McDaniels would be flown by medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
Officials say Royster was uninjured in the crash. He was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.
The highway was closed for nearly an hour for the investigation and cleanup.
