COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine tested positive for Covid-19 today after initially believing he had a mild head cold. The Governor’s office reported that DeWine began experiencing cold-like symptoms yesterday and continued with his regular duties throughout today. However, as his symptoms intensified, culminating in a 101-degree fever this afternoon, he was advised to get tested for the virus.
The test came back positive around 5:30 pm.
Currently, DeWine is resting at home. The recent strain of Covid-19 has been known to manifest symptoms resembling those of a regular cold. In light of this, both the Governor and the Ohio Department of Health are urging residents to get tested for Covid-19 if they believe they are experiencing even minor cold symptoms. The rapid onset and evolving nature of symptoms highlight the importance of continued vigilance in the face of the ongoing pandemic.
