ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A local woman reported a possible break-in at her camper on Turkey Ridge Road last Saturday, with law enforcement arriving on scene to investigate.
The complainant had earlier visited the Sheriff’s Office regarding threatening text messages. Upon her return home, she discovered her camper door open. A chilling text followed her discovery: “So you went to the police and the sheriff both just wait til u get home big surprise for you have fun while you’re still alive.” The woman believes the message was sent by the ex-girlfriend of her current boyfriend.
The scene inside the camper was disturbing. A damaged door, shattered vase, and strewn items greeted the investigating deputy. The most sinister clue: fabric with the words “you will die” cut out. A severed padlock was also found, though its original location remained uncertain.
The woman’s reactions raised eyebrows. Despite not being briefed by the deputy about the vandalized items, she pointed out specific damages, including to a stuffed flamingo and a blanket gifted to her by her boyfriend’s mother.
Intriguingly, another deputy who spoke with the complainant earlier that day noted she was busy on her phone, seemingly texting. This raised questions about the validity of the break-in. The investigating deputy stated, “I will review the body video to see if any indications suggest that the report may be false.”
