FRANKFORT, Ohio — A man was arrested after a dangerous game of cat and mouse early Saturday morning.
Cecil Simmons, 45, was arrested after a high-speed chase spanning western Ross County.
The chase involved troopers and deputies, which snaked them down County Road 550, Lick Run Road, Shiloh Road, and Route 28 multiple times.
Simmons was initially pulled over for a traffic violation while driving a rental car but failed to stop.
Troopers spiked the vehicle in the countryside, but the rental car continued to drive on a flat front tire and eventually, a rim before crashing at the intersection of Shiloh Road and County Road 550 almost an hour into the chase.
One patrol car from the Sheriff’s office suffered minor damage in the pursuit.
Simmons was taken into custody and transported to jail. The reason he ran was not immediately released.
