David Lee Jones “Jonesy” was born on December 18, 1956 to Frank and Beatrice (Thrift) Jones in Mansfield, Ohio.
Dave was married to the love of his life Debra Sue Jones “Susie” for 43 years. Dave worked 45 ½ years in the factory field. He retired from Mid West Fab after 29 years of service.
If Dave wasn’t pulling motors and putting motors back in to race his cars he was on a bank or in a boat fishing. He loved mushroom hunting and his favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas. He was for sure a down home country boy. He was preceded in death by son David Jones; daughter Christina Eads; mother Beatrice Thrift Jones; nephew Shawn Carney and sister Betty Hunsucker.
He is survived by his wife Debra Sue Jones “Susie”; father Frank Jones; daughters Debra (Dan) Carpenter and Tonya Rose; son David (Lisa) Jones Jr.; granddaughters Anne (Garrett) Daniels and Brittney Eads; grandsons Blade Rose and Jimmy Jones; Dave’s sisters Martha (Bob) Carney, Cathy Adkins, Mary Reinhardt; Dave’s brother Johnny (Debbie) Jones; Dave’s sisters-in-law Judy Lowe and Beatrice Cox and by special family members and friends Don and Holly Young, Jerry and Lisa Young, Dwayne and Angela Young, Kenny Smith, Keith Cox, Ted Poston, Zachary Hoey, Charlie Stebelton, Stephanie Barry, Bill and Helen Heeter, Kathy and Bill McVey, Shirley Stevens, Jimmy and Marsha Vandagriff, Cindy Coss and Kelly Coss. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with cremation to follow.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4 p.m.
