CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A local pastor has found himself in legal hot water after being arrested for assault and domestic violence.
Jeremy Beverly, aged 53, remains in custody at the Ross County Jail pending a hearing in municipal court.
According to the police report obtained by the Guardian, officers were dispatched to Adena Regional Medical Center in reference to a possible “domestic incident.” The victim in the case stated that on 3/16/2024, she was at home when Beverly allegedly “jumped out of bed and began cursing at her.” The victim told officers that Beverly then grabbed her by the arm and hair, pulled her out of bed, and began striking her in the back of the head multiple times with his fists.
The victim, authorities said, reported that this was not the first alleged instance of domestic violence. She told investigators that she had saved voice recordings on her phone of some of the alleged violent altercations. The recordings, per the report, mentioned Beverly “threatening to put the victim six-feet-under, blacken her other eye, and slit her throat.”
Beverly was subsequently arrested on charges related to the alleged domestic abuse.
Jeremy Beverly serves as pastor for the non-denominational Church of Deliverance in Chillicothe.
