COLUMBUS, Ohio — Over 15 members of the Ohio Army National Guard, along with eight soldiers from Serbia and Hungary, are set to compete in the 2024 OHARNG Best Warrior Competition. The event will take place from Thursday to Sunday, April 4-7, at the Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center in Newton Falls, Ohio.
The Best Warrior Competition is a rigorous multi-day event that tests participants on a range of technical and tactical skills. It also serves to determine the OHARNG Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year. State-level winners will represent Ohio at the regional Best Warrior Competition in May at Camp Dodge, Iowa.
The participation of Serbian and Hungarian soldiers is part of the Ohio National Guard’s partnership with these nations through the Defense Department’s State Partnership Program.
The event will commence at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Camp James A. Garfield front gate, located at 1038 Admin Road, Ravenna, Ohio.
