COLUMBUS, Ohio — Matt Damschroder, Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, announced today that Ohio residents aged 27 and under can now register for the OhioMeansJobs.com “Gen Z” Virtual Career Fair, scheduled for May 8. Early registration allows employers to review resumes ahead of time and potentially arrange discussions on the day of the event.
“This is a great opportunity for young people looking for any type of work, including full-time, part-time,
summer jobs, and internships,” Damschroder said. “More than 60 employers from across the state have
already signed up to participate.”
The career fair will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the statewide In-Demand Jobs Week, a celebration of the jobs, industries, and skills in demand in Ohio. To participate, job seekers can register at app.brazenconnect.com/a/OMJ-2/e/OYNJQ, and employers can register at forms.office.com/g/GZa86D9cP4 or by emailing [email protected].
Ohioans seeking employment can access a range of free services at OhioMeansJobs.com or their local OhioMeansJobs Center. These services include job search and application assistance, skill and career interest assessments, resume creation or improvement, interview practice, and more.
Young job seekers in Ohio may also qualify for the Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP), Ohio’s employment program for young adults. The program offers career coaching, job placement, tuition assistance, mentoring, financial assistance, transportation aid, and other resources. For more information, visit jfs.ohio.gov/ccmep.
