CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe man learned a harsh lesson after engaging in a confrontation with police, underscoring the adage that it’s never wise to pick a fight with law enforcement.
The incident unfolded when officers were dispatched to a residence at 727 East Main Street in response to a noise complaint.
According to the police report, officers engaged with a resident, Stone Comer, who surprisingly queried, “What did I do wrong?” Officers proceeded to inform Comer about the noise complaint they had received. However, when asked to provide identification, Comer allegedly resisted and attempted to fight with the officers upon learning he would be arrested for obstructing official business.
The report details that officers then physically intervened, forcibly removing Comer from the doorway and bringing him to the ground. During the altercation, officers allege that Comer attempted to place one officer in a headlock while they were attempting to handcuff him. Consequently, officers resorted to striking Comer in the face in an effort to break free from the headlock. After a brief scuffle, officers successfully subdued and arrested Comer.
Subsequently, Mr. Comer was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he now faces charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
