HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — A Bainbridge man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to smuggling cocaine into the Greenfield jail. Roger Fillmore, 43, received the sentence this week from Highland County Common Pleas Judge Rocky Coss after admitting to charges of illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility.

The case began in July when Greenfield police conducted a traffic stop for a fictitious plate and discovered Fillmore was driving with a suspended license. According to court records, officers found drugs during the stop. While in custody, Fillmore, officers said, resisted a strip search, leading to the discovery of two bags of cocaine concealed in his underwear.

As part of the sentencing, the judge also revoked Fillmore’s community control from a 2022 receiving stolen property case, adding a six-month concurrent sentence at the Highland County Justice Center. Fillmore was credited with 27 days already served.

Court records and police reports highlighted Fillmore’s resistance during the search as a key detail in the case.
