William D. “Bill” Wiseman, aged 72, passed away on January 22, 2025, at his home in Chillicothe, Ohio. Born on February 17, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, to Dr. William E. and Olive E. Wiseman, Bill was a graduate of Union Scioto Local School. He worked as a midshipman mate and park ranger before earning an associate degree in Wildlife Management from Shawnee State. As a State Park Officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Bill received the ODNR Lifesaving Award and the Buckeye Sheriff Lifesaving Award. He served primarily at Hocking Hills State Park and was a 32º Scottish Rite Master Mason.
Bill is survived by his sons, William H. and Isaac D. Wiseman, granddaughter Avery Lane Wiseman, and sisters Carol, Barbara, and Cheryl. He is also remembered by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A skilled outdoorsman, Bill cherished time with friends, classmates, and family, especially enjoying fishing trips with his sons.
Visitation will be held at Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home on January 28, 2025, followed by a funeral service officiated by Reverend James Grove with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. An online memorial can be found at the funeral home’s website.
