Delma “Jean” Oates, aged 88, from Chillicothe, passed away on February 22, 2025, at Valley View Care Center after a brief illness. Born on February 23, 1936, in Pennsboro, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Esta B. Mason Oates. She is survived by her children, Theresa McCoy and Todd Oates, grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a brother, a sister, and many extended family members. Jean was predeceased by several siblings. A retired employee of General Electric, Jean was known for her kind, generous, and spirited nature, enjoying simple pleasures like breakfasts with her sisters, music, and spending time with family. Her family expresses gratitude to Valley View Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their care.
