CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The local community is rallying around 4-year-old Locklynn, who is currently fighting for her life at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus after a sudden and severe medical emergency. Known for her strong-willed and lovable nature, Locklynn tested positive for flu A and collapsed unexpectedly in the early hours of February 24, leading to a cardiac arrest that has since left her with a severe brain injury.

Her condition took a critical turn when she became unresponsive at home, prompting her mother to perform CPR with assistance until medical help could arrive. The swift action got her to Adena Hospital in Chillicothe, where she was stabilized momentarily before being flown to Columbus for advanced care.

Currently in a coma and on life support, the young girl’s struggle has touched many hearts across the community. A GoFundMe page set up to support Locklynn’s family has already raised $4,880. The funds are aimed at helping her parents, Haley and Brad, manage the financial burden as they stay by her bedside and care for their other children while out of work.

“We are asking for prayers and any type of donations possible to help ease the mind of Haley and Brad,” the GoFundMe page reads. The family is facing significant adjustments as they prepare to make their home wheelchair accessible and acquire a suitable vehicle to accommodate Locklynn’s needs.

Despite the challenges, there is a glimmer of hope. As of March 2, Locklynn has awakened and doctors are planning to remove her from the ventilator. However, she faces a long recovery due to motor skill impairments resulting from the brain injury.

The community continues to show overwhelming support, rallying together to ensure the family feels less alone during this difficult time. Donations can be made through Haley’s Cash App at Ryliemomma2018 or Venmo at haleymichele1231. Residents can also donate from their GoFundMe page.

“Locklynn is so loved by so many, and she has an army behind her,” the family shared. “We’re still taking this day by day, hour by hour. We appreciate all the love and support we are receiving while the community rallies together for Locklynn and her parents.”

As Locklynn’s journey continues, her family and the wider Chillicothe community remain hopeful and grateful for every bit of support and kindness shown during this critical period.
