CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A robbery unfolded at a BP gas station in Chillicothe on Tuesday, leaving employees rattled and police hunting for a masked suspect.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a robbery at the BP gas station on Stafford Road. Upon arrival, they found the doors locked, with a worker granting them access. The entrance was promptly secured with tape to preserve the crime scene as officers were told the store had been robbed.

According to a voluntary statement from an employee, the suspect—a male approximately 5’8” tall—was first spotted pacing outside the station, smoking a cigarette and wearing a grey hoodie and dark sweatpants. Moments later, the man entered the store, now wearing dark gloves and a navy blue mask, and demanded money. Another employee, who was in the back room during the incident, did not witness the event and provided no statement.

Authorities called in a detective to investigate the crime scene. Police are actively searching for the suspect, described as a male wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants, dark gloves, and a navy blue mask. No further details have been released as the investigation continues.
