CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ohio University Chillicothe is accepting nominations for its 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award, which honors graduates who have made a significant impact as leaders in the campus and local community.

The award recognizes alumni who demonstrate excellence through service to the university, professional achievements, philanthropic contributions, or involvement in the greater Ross County community. Nominations are open through March 9 and may be submitted by faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

Last year’s recipients were Susan Congrove, a retired educator and current adjunct instructor at Ohio University Chillicothe, and Joshua Walter, regional manager for DTB Distributors. Congrove graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and later earned advanced degrees in teaching and educational administration. Walter, a 2014 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, is active in EPIC (Empowering Young Professionals in Chillicothe), a group that supports the recruitment and retention of young professionals in the region.

The Campus Relations Committee will select the 2026 awardee, who will be recognized at Ohio University Chillicothe’s Spring Graduation Recognition Ceremony on April 30.
