CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A third worker has been injured at the Kenworth Truck manufacturing facility in Chillicothe in the span of just seven days, raising serious questions about safety conditions at one of the region’s largest employers.

Medics were dispatched to the plant on Kenworth Drive around 10:00 a.m. Friday for a man suffering a serious hand injury. Deputies on scene reported the injured worker was going in and out of consciousness.

The incident marks the third workplace injury at the facility in less than a week. The Guardian has previously reported on a worker who suffered a crushing-related injury at the plant, as well as a separate employee who was injured after falling from an elevated position.

The string of accidents in such a short window now draws scrutiny to whether conditions inside the facility meet federal safety standards.

The Guardian is actively working to determine whether OSHA has launched a formal investigation into the recent string of accidents at the facility. This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
