PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — The Scioto County Grand Jury met April 17 and returned 12 public indictments across a range of felony and misdemeanor charges, Scioto County Prosecutor Shane A. Tieman announced Tuesday.
The most serious charges involve Donzell Worthen, 27, of Portsmouth, who was indicted on two counts of rape.
Larry Scoggins, 53, of McDermott, and Amber Ulery, 46, also of McDermott, each face multiple charges including grand theft, aggravated trafficking in drugs, and obstructing official business. Ulery faces the additional charge of aggravated possession of drugs. Both also face charges of possessing criminal tools.
Erik Powell, 29, of Portsmouth, faces one of the broadest charge sets in the indictment — safecracking, misdemeanor theft, illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, tampering with evidence, and possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
Christopher Maggard, 49, appears twice in the indictment — once listed as a Portsmouth resident and once as a Wheelersburg resident — and faces aggravated possession of drugs charges in both cases, along with a tampering with evidence charge in one.
The remaining defendants and their charges are as follows: Rickey Mynes, 50, of Portsmouth, aggravated possession of drugs; Tonya Lansing, 43, of Portsmouth, possession of cocaine; Sarah Smalley, 38, of Portsmouth, domestic violence; Eric Bramblett, 47, of Wheelersburg, grand theft; Zane Barnes, 24, of Portsmouth, domestic violence; Shane McKee, 18, of Corning, receiving stolen property.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
