CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Voters have rejected the proposed Chillicothe City School District income tax, according to final unofficial results released Tuesday night.

With all 24 precincts reporting, the measure failed 1,858 to 1,797, a margin of 61 votes. The proposal would have renewed the district’s income tax used to support school operations.

The totals include 1,273 absentee votes and 585 Election Day votes against the tax, compared with 1,225 absentee and 572 Election Day votes in favor. No provisional ballots were reported.

All results remain unofficial until the Ross County Board of Elections completes its canvass and certifies the vote.
