CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Machines tied to paper-making at the former Chillicothe mill are being dismantled for auction and scrap metal recovery at the former Pixelle Specialty Solutions facility on East 8th Street, according to an Ohio EPA inspection report.

The facility was sold to U.S. Paper Mill LLC, a new subsidiary of U.S. Medical Glove LLC, in October 2025 after Pixelle announced the end of operations in Ohio’s First Capital.

According to an Ohio EPA inspection conducted on March 26, 2026, USPM had already begun dismantling several Chilpaco machines — including the #21, #22, #23 and #24 Paper Mill Machines and the #32 Coater Machine — for auction and scrap metal recovery.

The company is also staging additional parts and equipment for auction in the facility’s shipping area and #6 Warehouse, according to the report.

Ohio EPA found no violations of the state’s Cessation of Regulated Operations laws during the inspection and confirmed in April that closure performance standards had been met.
