BLOOMINGBURG, Ohio — A structure fire that fully engulfed a home on Biddle Boulevard on Monday morning left one firefighter with minor injuries as crews from six area fire departments worked the scene, according to the Washington C.H. Fire Department.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that numerous agencies were responding to Biddle Boulevard and asked motorists to avoid the area so additional fire apparatus could reach the scene. Dispatchers received multiple reports of a fully engulfed structure, the fire department said.
Washington C.H. Fire Department crews responded to assist the BPM Joint Fire District, which covers Bloomingburg, working alongside BPM firefighters on command, fire attack, overhaul and accountability, the department said. No occupants were home at the time of the fire, and the firefighter who was hurt sustained only minor injuries, according to the department.
Bloomingburg is a Fayette County village of fewer than 900 residents a few miles northeast of Washington Court House. Biddle Boulevard is a residential street there.
The response drew mutual aid from the BPM Joint Fire Association, Jefferson Township Fire & EMS, the Pic-A-Fay Joint Fire District, Range Township Fire Department and the Fayette County EMS District, along with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Box 65 Scene Support, Center Point Energy, AES Ohio and the American Red Cross, according to the Washington C.H. Fire Department. The department credited Fayette County dispatchers for coordinating the multi-agency response.
No information on the cause of the fire or the extent of damage to the home was immediately available.
