CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — South Paint Street will close to through traffic Tuesday between Eighth Street and the alley between Seventh and Eighth streets while crews repair a water line, according to the city’s Utilities Department.

Crews are scheduled to be on site by 7:30 a.m., with repairs expected to wrap up by 4 p.m., the department said. Local traffic will still be able to reach homes and businesses within the closed section, and the city has posted a marked detour using Main Street, Bridge Street and East Eighth Street for through traffic.

Customers in the area may see low water pressure or a temporary loss of service while the repair work is underway, according to the release. The city said it will notify affected customers if the work triggers a boil-water advisory.

The department asked drivers to watch for construction vehicles and workers in the area. Customers with questions or service issues can call City Utilities at 740-773-3388 or email [email protected].
