CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police in Chillicothe returned to 626 Glencroft Avenue, where a shooting occurred last week. This time, police say, someone at that address used fake money to buy pizza.

On Wednesday, police responded to a local pizza parlor on North Bridge Street after the manager said their delivery driver received a fake $100 bill.

According to reports, the delivery driver went to the Glencroft Avenue home to deliver nearly $50 worth of pizza. The driver, police say, spoke with an African-American man, described as being in his thirties, wearing a red toboggan and glasses. The driver told police that the home had a “for rent” sign and looked empty.

The delivery driver went on to say that she told the man that she did not carry enough change to break the $100 bill. Reports say the man told the driver that it was “OK” and “to be blessed” leaving the employee with a $50 tip.

Upon returning to the pizza establishment, the employee noticed that the money was fake and had the word “copy” on the front and back, as well as the words, “In Props We Trust.”

Officers with the Chillicothe Police seized the counterfeit money and went to the Glencroft Avenue residence to look for the suspect. Officials said the home was, in fact vacant, and the suspect was nowhere to be found.

This is the second reported incidence where fake money was used at a local pizza parlor. The Guardian reported earlier this week on another pizza establishment that had received a fake $100 bill. The suspect in that case was cited by police.
