COLUMBUS, Ohio — The governor of Ohio, Mike DeWine, announced that Super Bowl Sunday will be known in Ohio as “Cincinnati Bengals Day”.
Governor DeWine made the proclamation Tuesday afternoon.
“I wish the Bengals luck as they prepare to play the Los Angeles Rams this weekend,” Governor DeWine said. “They have had a great season, and hopefully they can win once more to bring home Ohio’s first Super Bowl championship and tenth NFL title!”
The Bengals earned their slot in the big game by beating out the Kansas City Chiefs in a 27 to 24 upset. The Bengals clinched the AFC Championship in a spectacular overtime finish.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrows, a native of Athens County, led the team to its first Super Bowl appearance in more than three decades.
The Cincinnati Bengals will take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. The kickoff will begin at 6:30 p.m.
