COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol will be working in conjunction with area law enforcement agencies throughout the country to focus on safety and crash reduction.
Operation CARE Spring Break/St. Patrick’s Day Mobilization will run from Saturday, March 12 to Sunday, March 20.
According to the patrol, Ohio has seen an increase in fatal auto accidents in recent years. Officials say the current campaign aims to inform drivers about the dangers of distracted driving and impaired driving.
“We will have an increased presence of law enforcement as more people travel to and from their spring break destination this year. As St. Patrick’s Day celebrations begin, make sure you are wearing your safety belts and designate a sober driver. Your actions can influence friends and family to make the same choices, “said Colonel Richard Fambro.
