MADISON COUNTY, Ohio — A double fatal crash near Mount Sterling claimed the life of two local people Saturday evening.
It happened about a half a mile in Madison County from the Fayette County line, according to state troopers.
According to several eyewitness accounts and the evidence at the scene, Larry Eugene Furlong, 65 of Mount Sterling was traveling south on route 62 in the wrong direction, when he hit an SUV driven by Linda Marie Lee, 42, Washington Court House head on.
Medics pronounced both drivers deceased at the scene. The Madison County Coroner’s Office transported both victims to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for autopsy.
