CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating bridge collision along route 35 in Ross County.
According to initial reports, a tractor-trailer hauling a forklift collided with the Adena Road Bridge which crosses route 35 just west of Chillicothe, and then left the scene.
Witnesses told dispatchers that the semi was traveling along the highway when the forklift hit the bridge, scattering debris across the roadway.
Troopers with the patrol called for a bridge inspector from the Ohio Department of Transportation to examine the damage.
ODOT has been actively repairing the bridge from a previous collision.
Motorists are advised to use caution in the area.

UPDATE: Troopers say the driver of the tractor-trailer returned to the scene around 10:15 p.m.
