Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe!”
The search warrant executed at the home of former president Donald Trump was released to the public on Friday.
The Guardian obtained a copy of the warrant and the property receipt.
According to the warrant, FBI agents were instructed to search the 17-acre estate for classified and top secret documents, as well as papers related to national security and any presidential documents created during Trump’s term in office.
Those close to the situation told the press that the search included documents related to the nation’s nuclear weapons program.
The property receipt shows top secret documents, pictures, and an executive grant of clemency for political consultant and lobbyist Roger Stone. Stone was a close friend of the former president and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
Multiple boxes of related documents were also seized in the search.
No further details have been released regarding the ongoing investigation.
Supporters of former President Trump took to the streets around Mar-a-Lago in protest following the search of the resort. One individual angered by the raid was Ricky Shiffer Jr.
He was identified as the man who launched an attack on the FBI Field Office in Cincinnati.
Shiffer, according to his social media posts, was angry at the recent FBI raid on former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. On Truth Social, a social media platform created by Trump, Shiffer confessed to the attack. Posted at 9:29 a.m. on Thursday, “Well, I thought I had a way through bulletproof glass, and I didn’t. If you don’t hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I.”
Shiffer was shot and killed by law enforcement in Clinton County following a lengthy standoff.
Legal troubles have been plaguing the 45th President of late. On Wednesday, Donald Trump was called to testify for a deposition. According to the New York Attorney General’s Office, Trump declined to answer any questions, taking the Fifth Amendment throughout the proceeding.
