Both lanes of route 772 were closed just southwest of Chillicothe after a crash Tuesday night.
Moments before midnight, a red compact car smashed into the back of a silver SUV. Alcohol is believed to be involved, troopers say.
The woman who troopers are labeling at-fault told emergency responders that she “had a couple shots of alcohol.” Troopers found bottles of Crown Royal in the car.

Witnesses at the scene told troopers that after the crash happened the driver and her passenger got out of the car and were so intoxicated that they could not stand up. When the driver hit the back of an SUV, she pushed the vehicle down the road nearly a quarter of a mile before stopping.
Airbags were deployed and the windshield busted on the red car.
No names have been released.
