ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A man is facing a littering citation after he allegedly threw a dead dog on his neighbor’s property.
Richard Swan called police to report that his neighbor had thrown a white trash bag containing a dead dog on his property over the weekend. Swan said that his neighbor, who has not been identified, claimed that he had been asked to bury the dog by his cousin, but instead decided to get rid of it by throwing it on Swan’s property.
Deputies arrived at the scene and spoke to both Swan and the neighbor. The neighbor admitted to throwing the dog on Swan’s property, but said that he did not remember doing it. He also said that he did not know the dog was dead when he threw it away, despite it being a trash bag.
Deputies issued the neighbor a citation for littering and ordered him to remove the dog from Swan’s property. The dog was taken to a local animal shelter to be disposed.
